Pakistan at the moment faces chronic electricity shortage due to demand growth, limited addition in generation capacity, high transmission & distribution losses and the persisten issue of circular debt, etc. The current demand-supply deficit is around 5,000 MW at peak demand levels. The shortfall in supply of electricity is hampering the country's economic growth as well. To resolve power crisis in the country, various initiatives are being taken by Government of Pakistan ("GoP"). Low cost power producers are expected to remain on high priority list of the power purchaser.
Having seen the severe power shortage faced by the country resulting in huge losses to the economy, Siachen Energy Limited ("SEL") envisages setting up of Solar Power Generation Plant having designed capacity of 200MW, in two phases of 100MW each.
The sponsors are implementing the project on fast track basis and intend to start production in 6 months after financial close of the first phase.
The Top Management team of SEL comprises of persons having vast experiences in their respective fields who ensures the maintenance of close relationships with both GoP agencies and the major players essential to the successful implementation of project as well as smooth and on-time construction, erection and implementation of the unit.
